The 40 Thorndike project is progressing with phased road reconstruction to begin on May 30, 2023, which will require lane closures and at times full road closures. Starting May 1st through the month, a full depth road reconstruction involving removal and replacement of the base and top asphalt layers, curb replacements, and resetting of utility structures to grade, will take place on Third Street. Full-depth road reconstruction will also occur on Thorndike Street through June and at the corner of Second and Spring Streets in August. The asphalt on Second and Spring Streets will be milled/grinded and overlayed. This work will occur for approximately one week on Second Street in July and another week on Spring Street in August. Associated landscaping and excavation activities will be ongoing simultaneously. Paving of all streets will occur in late September/early October. Please view the graphic below for work areas and dates.
In association with this work, the fence will be reconfigured on Spring Street on Friday, May 5th, capturing one side of street parking for curbing work and to optimize laydown space. This new fence configuration will be in place through October after paving has been completed.
